Purpose of job

To assist the Immigration Practice Area in the provision of advice to the firm’s corporate clients. The Immigration Department is made up of three teams which consist of two corporate teams and one Private Client team.

Responsibilities

Specific duties:                     

To include:

  • Manage own caseload of corporate clients
  • Actively manage and develop client relationships including day to day contact with key clients and preparing a variety of business immigration applications
  • Provide advice on complex UK immigration matters
  • Work with clients on Administrative Reviews and appeals to the First-Tier Tribunal against decisions involving such matters as the UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) refusing to grant a visa extension, indefinite leave to remain, or refusing to issue entry clearance to enter the UK
  • Keep immigration knowledge up to date and is familiar with all relevant legislation
  • Liaise closely with other fee earners in the team and with clients
  • Liaise directly with the UKVI
  • Completion of forms, letters and applications
  • Research
  • Marketing activities (seminars, workshops, pitches etc.)
  • Understanding of financials on client accounts
  • Supervision of junior members of the team
  • Such other duties as may from time to time be required.
