The department

The leading criminal defence solicitors in the UK. Our criminal defence lawyers are astute, supportive and highly sophisticated, particularly known for their skills in providing strategic, sensible and practical criminal law advice and for our ability to keep potentially high profile cases out of the public eye.

Purpose of job

To work as part of a team, advising the firm’s clients on criminal law matters. This includes advising private individuals and companies during the investigation stages and, where relevant, post-charge in respect of the areas of law below. We provide 24/7 police station representation including an out of hours rota. Successful applicants will be asked to provide evidence of their skills in advising suspects in cautioned interviews.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience advising individuals and entities in all areas of Serious & General Crime, police investigations and defending criminal prosecutions in private practice. This individual will lead, supervise and run a varied caseload, working with various partners in the team and across the firm as well as supervising junior qualified and non- qualified lawyers.

The department’s client base is predominately professional and high profile/ high net worth individuals. This individual must demonstrate professionalism, a high degree of emotional intelligence, commerciality, financial discipline, excellent client care and discretion with all aspects of the case.

  • Appeals and miscarriages of justice
