Purpose of job

To produce well-written client communications and marketing collateral for the firm.                  

The External Communications & Copywriting Executive will have a central role within our Business Development and Marketing team, working with our lawyers and business services teams alike.

Reporting to our Head of Communications and supporting Business Development Managers, you will be responsible for writing, editing and proofing a wide range of content, including tenders, pitches, brochures, web content and newsletters. You’ll be working with leaders in the legal world to translate complex ideas into simple messages. You will be creative, detailed and extremely organised, working in a fast-paced environment to sell the services of the firm.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Writing and editing a wide range of materials including tenders, pitches, presentations, submissions, newsletters and brochures.
  • Drafting award entries on behalf of the firm, and proactively creating a submissions calendar.
  • Drafting and editing directory entries for legal publications, e.g. Chambers, L500, WWL, Spears, etc
  • Creating communications that are carefully crafted to inform, educate and sell the services of the firm
  • Writing and maintaining our firmwide credentials, pitches, and CVs database
  • Drafting external content, including for our newsletters, alumni and international networks and our website
  • Developing and maintaining a copy style guide to ensure consistency and tone across all channels
  • Developing the firm’s branding (wording) in order to help raise the firm’s reputation and recognition in the market
  • Ad hoc requests from the Business Development & Marketing Managers as and when required
