The team

The Business Development & Marketing team takes much care of the firm’s external reputation, employing a number of tools to optimise our profile in the market.  Growing profitable income from clients and targets is the key aim of the national Business Development team, and they do this in two main ways, by:

  • supporting Relationships (with existing Clients, Targets and Intermediaries)
  • developing a strong brand, profile and Reputation for Shoosmiths in the UK market and overseas.

 

The role

Working as part of Business Development’s Relationship management function, this role provides administrative support to the management of the firm’s major client relationships - a key part of Shoosmiths’ development strategy.

Essentially the role will be managing and updating the various account tools we use to help support the development of these key clients. This includes the coordination of key information for account plans, client relationship statements and other client service support documents.

You will have excellent organisational skills as the team have a very structured approach to relationship support and communication, with a strong focus on quarterly reporting, both for clients and for internal teams.

Main responsibilities

Relationship Management support

  • Support Relationship Management Executives (‘RME’s) at month end and quarter financial ends to ensure Account Plans and Quarterly Relationship Statements are up to date and that information is completed accurately using SAP & Interaction.
  • Produce and update various relationship management tools where requested such as service delivery dashboards and team sheets to ensure the information recorded is up to date and in line with the clients’ requirements.
  • Produce first drafts of secondment guides where required working closely with RME’s and Client Relationship Managers (‘CRMs’).
  • Assist the RME’s with their key deliverables, particularly at busy periods such as quarter ends.
  • Provide central support to the relationship management team in collaboration with other RMEs.
  • Develop knowledge of SAP and interaction to be able to assist relationship management team with requests for information.

Relationship Hub

  • Form part of the relationship hub and action any administration ad hoc queries and requests.
  • Provide cover for the relationship hub due to holidays/absences responding to queries and managing deadlines (liaising with RME’s or CRMs).
Skills and qualifications
  • Close attention to detail and information accuracy
  • Good writing skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team and work closely with the Relationship Management Executives
  • Show accountability for own role and responsibilities and think proactively
  • Friendly, approachable, confident with a can do approach to work and ability to work under pressure
  • Financial aptitude and familiarity with financial systems interrogation (SAP knowledge desirable)
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint essential
  • Working knowledge of relationship management system (Interaction knowledge desirable)
