The team

The role

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts as part of Shoosmiths’ Spotlight service.

• Assisting legal advisors in the department with various commercial law matters.

• Being available to accept opportunities for secondments to major clients.

• Assisting with various other tasks as required.

Skills and qualifications

• Strong academics, including degree and LPC or ILEX qualified is preferred.

• Ideally 6-12 months previous paralegal experience within a reputable commercial law firm.

• Diligent with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to deliver a superb client service to both internal and external clients.

• Good organisational skills to ensure that tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.

• Ability to grasp things quickly and easily.

• Self-confidence and ability to demonstrate initiative. 

• Good sense of humour and able to integrate within a team.
