The team

Shoosmiths Private Client Conveyancing Team offers a highly professional conveyancing service designed to make the process of buying or selling property as efficient and stress-free for their clients.

Shoosmiths remains the largest firm of conveyancing solicitors accredited under the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme. The conveyancing service provided by our Private Client Practice maintains the same high standards corporate clients have come to expect of Shoosmiths and is consistently commended in national consumer service awards.

The role

The role’s underlying purpose is to provide support to the Head of Conveyancing and support partners with internal auditing and complaint handling for the department; managing lender relationships and collating information for the annual re-accreditation for the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

In summary, the role will be varied and will always be focused on business need.  The successful candidate should embrace change and be willing to push the limits of their job role to progress.

Main responsibilities

Complaints

  • Assist in the effective management of complaints ensuring adherence to regulatory rules and specific client requirements and departmental expectations;
  • Drafting letters of acknowledgment and final responses for complaints (subject to experience);
  • Ensuring internal complaint log is accurately maintained;
  • Assisting (where needed) the person responsible for responding to the complaint.

Auditing

  • Auditing Matter files (subject to experience);

Lender Relationships

  • Provide support to Head of Department in maintaining lender relationships provide information when required to maintain our status on lenders’ panels

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, confirmation of employment will be subject to a variety of checks which will be carried out once an offer of employment is accepted. These checks include a basic level DBS check.
