The team

Our award winning Recruitment Team are dedicated to finding the best talent for a variety of business areas including both legal and head office support roles.  

As part of this team, you will be creative and driven, with interpersonal savvy that allows you to develop lasting relationships with internal clients, candidates, and external suppliers helping to guide them through our hiring process and connecting them to the world of working at Shoosmiths.

The role

You'll be responsible for finding the best talent for a variety of legal divisions and locations.  

In addition to being organised and analytical, you possess the strong business judgement and communication skills needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions. 

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Recruiter looking for a challenging and diverse position within an exciting and expanding organisation.

Main responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional recruitment service to hiring partners, supporting the wider delivery of an effective, efficient and innovative firm-wide recruitment service.
  • Creation of local recruiting plans, job descriptions and advertisements and conduct regular update meetings with hiring managers.
  • To determine appropriate direct sourcing methods for open vacancies and manage external hiring partners where necessary (placing advertisements and liaising with preferred suppliers).
  • Effective management of partner recruitment and process.
  • Offer management.
  • Review applications and conduct all 1st stage reviews for open vacancies in line with agreed SLA's.
  • Building networks to develop talent pools of passive candidates in advance of needs, and maintain regular contact with possible candidates, particularly including the used of social media.
  • Support in the delivery of annual salary and PSL review projects.
  • Management of legal advisor job boards and exernal advertising platforms. 
  • To promote internal employee referral networks and internal mobility.
  • Support the development of Shoosmiths employer brand and position in the local market as an 'employer of choice'.
  • Develop relationships with key networks and suppliers to support candidate attraction.
  • Research and recommend for new sources for active and passive candidate sourcing.
Skills and qualifications
  • Experience of mentoring and working within a high performing recruitment team (either in-house or within an agency environment).
  • An expert in candidate sourcing and extensive interview experience.
  • Proven experience to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; organisational and time management skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge and interest in social media platforms e.g. facebook, twitter, LinkedIn.
  • Previous legal experience and an existing network in the legal / recruitment sector is preferred.

This role may on occasion require flexible working hours, and travel is expected throughout our network of offices across the UK (with regular trips to Birmingham, Manchester and London in particular).
