The firm

A leading UK law firm with a network of offices from the South Coast to Scotland, working together as one national team. An innovative practice and the first top 100 law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People, our values and culture are not just words on our website but are the heartbeat of the firm. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and pomposity makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.

The team

Our national Employment team is widely respected for providing an excellent service and pragmatic and timely legal advice to its highly regarded (mainly UK employer) client base. Enjoying a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters, the team regularly conducts its own advocacy in employment tribunal claims as well as supporting clients and internal colleagues (mainly the Firm’s corporate and commercial teams) on a variety of day to day employment matters and strategic projects.

The role

An opportunity has arisen to join our team of UK employment experts where the team is ideally looking for a candidate in the region of 1-5 years’ PQE.  Experience of advising employer clients and of providing employment support on corporate and commercial transactions would be advantageous, as would enthusiasm for supporting the team’s extensive programme of client training and employment seminars.  This role will suit a specialist employment lawyer who is looking for a varied workload and the opportunity for significant client contact.  You’ll join a supportive and nationally integrated team where collaboration and individual development are valued and encouraged.

Equal opportunities

Shoosmiths is a committed Equal Opportunities employer promoting equality of opportunity. This means that everyone who either applies to or works for the firm is treated equally, whatever their gender, age, ethnic origin, nationality, marital status, disability, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
