The role

The Role will involve delivery of Support, Enhancements and Projects to legal template and is required to perform day to day support of customer SAP Systems. Candidates will also be required to perform project work including Patching, Upgrades and new Installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for various technical aspects of SAP, which could include ABAP, PI, Data Services, Web Dynpro and others in line with SAP’s legal template. New Projects include Hana upgrade so any experience would be an advantage.

Main responsibilities
  • Day-to-day support, monitoring, reporting, configuration, management and backup of LAN and WAN systems  
  • To provide all aspects of technical support for windows based systems, database administration and SAP Basis administration in a proactive and reactive mode and ensure that the systems perform within the terms of their respective service level agreements
  • Deliver results within given time frames, ensuring that the standard of work is maintained. You will be expected to document work in line with team standards
  • Maintain the integrity of the systems is maintained
  • Support SAP S/4 HANA 161, PI 7.5, Business Objects, SAP Business Warehouse and Portals
  • To work closely with the business analysts to analyse and understand the technical requirements and develop SAP in order to meet all requirements
  • To define and agree deliverables and timelines to ensure they are fit for purpose in line with the full project plans
  • To produce documentation, technical specifications, training and testing scripts, risk and issue logs and any other necessary project and support documentation
  • To work with other IS teams to manage the requirements relating to interfaces with other systems
  • To ensure all project communications, both written and verbal, are managed and delivered in a timely manner
  • To work with the functional analysts to manage any proposed changes or enhancements to agreed scope
  • Work effectively with the whole project team to ensure a fully integrated system is delivered
  • To, as required, manage suppliers and contractors to ensure targets and deliverables are met
  • Minimise the firm’s exposure to risk
  • To ensure projects meet quality standards
  • Ensure that you understand and follow the required IS Policy, Procedures and guidelines provided by the IS Department
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with rest of the IS department
  • Assist other areas of the IS department as and when required
  • Be aware of current Health and Safety requirements and co-operate with Facilities Management

    Essential

  • Excellent experience of SAP basis administration and experience in Business Warehouse, PI/PO 75, workflows and Portal administration

  • Solid experience in a SAP basis role covering support, maintenance and upgrading a medium to large size SAP environment

  • Routine SAP basis administration and database administration

  • Experience of SAP upgrades, archiving, business warehouse, workflow administration, informix dba

  • Installation and Configuration of Solution Manager

  • SAP Netweaver Administration 

    Preferred

  • Experience of any SAP modules (for example, FICO, SD etc) or BODS.

  • Experience of S/4 HANA

  • Experience in a law firm, professional services firm or other service sector industry (not essential)

  • Educated to degree level

  • Prince 2/ASAP qualified
