The role

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the integration of disparate systems including case management systems, workflow/BPM systems and SAP using Microsoft integration technologies such as Microsoft Biztalk and .NET technologies. 

Main responsibilities

The remit of the role includes the following:

  • Learn about and contribute to the creation of inhouse tools and data management solutions
  • Learn about and contribute to the support and enhancement of existing systems
  • To work closely with the business to analyse and understand the technical requirements and develop solutions to meet all requirements.
  • To produce documentation, technical specifications, training and testing scripts, risk and issue logs and any other necessary project and support documentation.
  • Work effectively with the whole project team to ensure a fully integrated system is delivered.
  • Minimise the firm’s exposure to risk.
  • Ensure that you understand and follow the required IS Policy, Procedures and guidelines provided by the IS Department.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with rest of the IS department.
  • Assist other areas of the IS department as and when required.

Be aware of current Health and Safety requirements and co-operate with Facilities Management

Essential

  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a law firm, professional services firm or other service sector industry
  • Basic understanding of SQL and databases, or experience with writing SQL / PL SQL, desirable
  • Any knowledge of programming will be a bonus

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent   

Additional details

Travel to other Shoosmiths offices will be necessary on occasions.

It is essential that the Trainee Analyst can work flexible or extended hours to complete some tasks outside of core business hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
