The team

The Company Secretarial team is part of Shoosmiths LLP which is one of the UK’s largest national law firms offering the back up of 189 partners and more than 1100 staff across 11 offices in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  With this recruitment, the team will be six people, but further growth is expected over the next year.

The role

The Company Secretarial team is looking for a very organised person to assist the team with:

  • managing the team’s billing and monitoring the team’s work in progress
  • opening and closing client files (mainly virtual files)
  • reporting to the department head on the team’s financial performance
  • helping the team with administrative tasks relating to company secretarial matters
  • dealing with daily post forwarding for our registered office service clients
  • using the team’s Blueprint database (full training will be given).
Skills and qualifications

You will need the following skills and experience:-

  • IT literate with experience of using Word, Excel and the internet
  • Good written, numeracy and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Previous work experience in an office enviorement
  • Ability to prioritise, be organised and efficient
  • Flexibility with the capability to adapt to change, new practices and cope under pressure but with the ability to recognise when to seek assistance
  • Able to integrate within a team and able to work on your own initiative
  • Friendly and helpful approach
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) to include Maths and English.
