The firm

A leading UK law firm with a network of offices from the South Coast to Scotland, working together as one national team. An innovative practice and the first top 100 law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People, our values and culture are not just words on our website but are the heartbeat of the firm. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and pomposity makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.

The team

Our award winning national Corporate team, which has been ranked in the top four firms for deal volume for the past four years by Experian MarketIQ's M&A Review, is led by a team of partners widely regarded as leaders in their field who are regularly recommended by clients for their reputation, personalities and outstanding expertise.

We advise companies, management teams, investors and debt providers through the business life cycle, from start-up and first round finance through M&A, management transactions, venture and development funding, restructuring, capital reductions, private equity funding and exits.

Our Nottingham team is one of the most highly regarded in the city and is led by Crispin Bridges Webb. Clients range from young fast growth companies to large multinational corporations, wherever based, with much of the work being for international clients and working with our international network of law firms.

The role

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Senior Associate to join our similarly ambitious Corporate team. Our team has a clear growth strategy, which means that for the right candidate there is the opportunity for real career progression.

In this role you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of transactions, as well as supervise and mentor other junior members of the team. The core focus of the work will be M&A but you will also cover all aspects of corporate finance including private equity, venture capital, joint ventures and re-organisations.

We pride ourselves in providing the best client experience, you will therefore be encouraged to take part in a variety of client and BD activities from the outset.
