The team

Our Real Estate team is one of the leading and largest UK Real Estate teams, recently winning “Legal Team of the Year” at the Estates Gazettes awards. We are spread nationally across all offices and represent an impressive range of household name clients from developers, investors and corporate occupiers through to banks and funders on some of the highest value and profile projects around.

The Construction team

Shoosmiths' 6-partner and 18 other legal advisers national construction and engineering team advises on all aspects of legal construction matters, from strategic advice on procurement and institutional and market expectations at project inception, to contentious aspects of projects during and after the completion of a project. The Construction team is an integral part of the overall Real Estate team.

We opened our Leeds office only two years ago and since then have built up a highly-experienced team of expert legal practitioners with a current office headcount of over 80. The Real Estate team in Leeds is the largest team in the office and are continuing to go from strength to strength and with an increase in work from existing and new clients (local and national), including developers, contractors, corporates, institutional investors, funding and letting entities, and growth is very much on the agenda for our Leeds based team.

The role

This role will be suitable for someone who has a strong background in non-contentious work and is looking to continue doing this in a growing and supportive team and firm with high aspirations for the Leeds office. The Leeds Construction team is headed up by Rick Atha, supported by a senior associate and paralegal.  You will typically be advising on a mix of development/infrastructure projects, real estate and corporate acquisitions and disposals and property finance for a range of clients, including many household names.
