We champion diversity and inclusion, and our mission is to attract and nurture a diverse group of people and to create an environment and culture that is genuinely inclusive, in which every member of staff feels valued for their contribution.  We have been awarded Gold status in the Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter in recognition of our commitment to this.  We were also the first major law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and egotism makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.

We have received many awards which reflect the quality and efforts of the firm, including perhaps most notably the Regional/National Law Firm of the Year in the Legal Business Awards 2018.

The team

Our national Employment team is widely respected for providing an excellent service and pragmatic and timely legal advice to its highly regarded (mainly UK employer) client base. Enjoying a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters, the team regularly conducts its own advocacy in employment tribunal claims as well as supporting clients and internal colleagues (mainly the Firm’s corporate and commercial teams) on a variety of day to day employment matters and strategic projects.

We are proud of the fact that we deliver an amazing service for our clients. We work in partnership with them so that our influence goes beyond giving technical legal advice to making a real commercial difference to their business.
