The team

The Business Development & Marketing team takes much care of the firm’s external reputation, employing a number of tools to optimise our profile in the market.  Growing profitable income from clients and targets is the key aim of the national Business Development team, and they do this in two main ways, by:

  • supporting Relationships (with existing Clients, Targets and Intermediaries)
  • developing a strong brand, profile and Reputation for Shoosmiths in the UK market and overseas.
The role

A vacancy has arisen for a CRM Systems Assistant to promote and maintain the firm’s CRM system and help evolve data management and reporting, whilst supporting the firm’s data standards.

The aim of this role is to provide support and focus on the firm’s CRM system, LexisNexis InterAction, with the responsibility of working with the existing CRM Systems team to manage InterAction, whilst promoting the benefits of the system more effectively for the firm. The role supports the development of a central repository of high quality client and target data and ensuring relevant activities are recorded across the firm.

This role will mean working with the wider BD team, supporting partners, legal advisers and PAs when required, as well as understanding the use of our eMarketing system, Vuture.

This role involves working with the Senior CRM Systems Executive and existing CRM Systems Assistant to manage InterAction data.  It will involve working with the wider BD team with support on data management and e-mailings. The successful candidate will be a pro-active and enthusiastic advocate and ambassador for good data practice within the BD team and wider firm, as part of the firm’s strategic focus on the client experience.

Main responsibilities
  • To assist with the day-to-day tasks required to keep InterAction data current and GDPR compliant.
  • To assist with the clearing of Data Change management tickets and to follow-up on leads from these tickets as appropriate.
  • Working closely with the event and campaigns team in order to ensure good data practice is a central part of their approach.
  •  Act as a source of help and practical advice for InterAction users.
  • Assist in promoting a good data culture internally and act as an ambassador for InterAction as the firm’s CRM system.
  • Work with the CRM systems team in order to ensure all GDPR compliance processes are carrying out on a regular basis.
  • Respond to user enquiries regarding data changes.
  • Creating reports from InterAction to support the BD team when required.
  • Assisting in management of data accuracy and integrity to ensure that InterAction data quality is maintained.
  • Assisting with the use of Dun & Bradstreet company data to enhance our relationship knowledge.
  • Liaise with Vuture and LexisNexis as part of our support contract, and work with our internal IS support team to help resolve any systems issues.
Skills and qualifications
  • Excellent desktop skills; particularly in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience of working with InterAction (or an alternative CRM system) and Vuture would be beneficial
  • Data analysis skills
  • Experience working in a legal or professional services organisation (desirable)
  • Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and proof reading skills to spot inaccuracies in communications
  • A team player with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad cross section of people, including colleagues in the BD team, lawyers and PAs across the firm and other support departments
