The team

Shoosmiths Private Client Conveyancing Team offers a highly professional conveyancing service designed to make the process of buying or selling property as efficient and stress-free for their clients.

Shoosmiths remains the largest firm of conveyancing solicitors accredited under the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme. The conveyancing service provided by our Private Client Practice maintains the same high standards corporate clients have come to expect of Shoosmiths and is consistently commended in national consumer service awards.

The role

As part of an exciting period of growth, we are now looking to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice to join a Case Team within the Conveyancing department. The Case Teams deal with clients who are buying or selling their property, therefore you will have a background in customer service and excellent organisational skills to ensure that these customers receive the best service possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in a fast-paced, growing department. Alongside the Business Administration Apprentice (NVQ Level 2), you will also undertake a structure in-house training programme where you will gain knowledge of the full conveyancing process from end-to-end.

We consider this a level 1 competency role.

Main responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in the conveyancing department to provide any administration necessary to assist in the smooth progression of transactions. You will be dealing with a range of customers from first-time buyers through to experienced sellers, lenders and estate agents therefore you will need to be able to answer the telephone in a professional manner to deliver exceptional customer service.

This role will include completing administration tasks on all types of conveyancing transactions producing standard documentation and drafting sales contracts.  You will need to be able to effectively prioritise work in accordance with clients expectations, deadlines and targets.

In return, you will be given the opportunity to go through a structured training programme, attending training sessions arranged by the Conveyancing Trainer, completing online courses and shadowing more experienced members of the team.

Qualifications required:

You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English and Maths (grade 4 and above).
