As a result of this success and the exciting opportunities it affords, we have ambitious plans to grow our commercial team in the Thames Valley. We are ideally looking for an Associate level candidate and we want to hear from you if you are based in Reading or have connections here and want to work with us to support and develop our team in this location.
If you join us, you become part of our national network with scope to work across all our specialisms. On a day to day basis, you’ll be working with Nick and Fiona and the team on business critical commercial work for an impressive array of clients including the likes of Game, the Daily Mail Group, Experian plc, British American Tobacco and Associated British Foods Plc. The general work stream spans franchising, supply and servicing agreements, outsourcing, distribution agreements as well as corporate support. You’ll also have exposure to Data & Privacy mandates dealing with Binding Corporate Rules, data breach support work, Article 28 (of GDPR) agreements and the privacy aspects of general commercial agreements. Much of our work has a cross-border or international element.
We are looking for enthusiastic, team orientated individuals with general commercial experience gained either from private practice or in-house.
You will share our values for providing outstanding client service and partnering with our clients to advance their businesses in terms of efficiency, technology and productivity. In most cases you will be taking your instructions from In-house Lawyers and you will benefit from operating at this level across the legal and commercial aspects of the business. The majority of our commercial legal advisors in Thames Valley have spent time in-house. If this is something you’re interested in, you have a high chance of securing a secondment opportunity in this team as we continue to receive requests to work closely withour clients within their businesses.
You will work with us to drive results and, where appropriate, will help to supervise and progress the junior legal advisors in the team. You’ll be handling work of the best quality in a positive, supportive environment and vitally, you will receive recognition for your input and have the ability to influence your career and the success of the team as a result.
