The team

The role

We are looking for an Admin Assistant to join our Milton Keynes Corporate team, initially on a 6 month fixed-term contract.  It is likely that this contract will be extended.

The role has arisen due to a high volume of work within the team.   The work undertaken will initially be exclusively administration including assisting legal advisers and personal assistants with day-to-day administration, file opening and assisting with diary management.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • File opening
  • Monthly invoicing using our accounts system
  • Document management
  • Electronic diary management for legal advisers
  • Conducting general administration duties
  • Scanning and electronic storage of documents and filing
Skills and qualifications
  • Previous office admin experience would be preferred but is not essential.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) to include Maths and English.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Confident when speaking on the telephone
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including a good telephony manner.
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Fast, accurate typing skills (ideally 40 wpm minimum).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to effectively prioritise workload.
  • Able to work as part of a team, but able to use own initiative when required.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, confirmation of employment will be subject to a variety of checks which will be carried out once an offer of employment is accepted.  These checks will include employment references covering the last 5 years, proof of ID, proof of address covering the last 5 years, Personnel Vetting credit search (which will only highlight insolvency or County Court Judgments - should any adverse data show on the Personnel Vetting search then any offer of employment made will be withdrawn).Terrorism Check (against data supplied by the Bank of England) and a basic DBS check.
