An innovative practice and the first top 100 law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People, our values and culture are not just words on our website but are the heartbeat of the firm. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and pomposity makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.

The team

Our award winning national corporate team, which is consistently ranked as one of the UK’s top law firms for deal volume by Experian MarketIQ's M&A Review, is led by a team of partners widely regarded as leaders in their field who are regularly recommended by clients for their reputation, personalities and outstanding expertise.

We advise companies, management teams, investors and debt providers through the business life cycle, from start-up and first round finance through M&A, management transactions, venture and development funding, restructuring, capital reductions, private equity funding and exits. We also have a growing corporate finance practice, primarily advising listed clients on equity capital raisings in the public market.

Our highly regarded Manchester team covers the full range of corporate work, with a focus on UK and cross- border M&A transactions for a range of local, national and overseas clients.

The role

Despite the current pandemic and challenging market conditions our national corporate team is continuing to grow and we are looking for an ambitious Senior Associate to join our team in Manchester. The role offers the opportunity to lead on transactions, as well as working alongside the Partners on larger or more complex deals. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable client facing experience and will thrive on taking ownership for their own matters.

Supported by our established local team as well as being a part of a wider national team, you will have the platform to develop and will have excellent opportunities for career progression.

We pride ourselves on providing the best client experience and you will be encouraged to take part in a variety of client relationship and wider business development activities from the outset.
