The team

Shoosmiths Private Client Conveyancing Team offers a highly professional conveyancing service designed to make the process of buying or selling property as efficient and stress-free for their clients.

Shoosmiths remains the largest firm of conveyancing solicitors accredited under the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme. The conveyancing service provided by our Private Client Practice maintains the same high standards corporate clients have come to expect of Shoosmiths and is consistently commended in national consumer service awards.

The role

To be expert with the technical elements necessary to provide a quality and comprehensive conveyancing service with a customer service focus and working in accordance with the Shoosmiths Values and Agreed Behaviours. 

Main responsibilities
  • Competently, confidently and consistently undertake all key functions within a conveyancing transaction.
  • To be able to handle Freehold, Leasehold, Unregistered, New Build and Shared Ownership sale and purchase transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Supervise paralegals with systems and processes to ensure the efficient running of a transaction.
  • Manage and develop working relationships with all work providers.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer care to all clients and work providers.

Depending on management experience, the opportunity to manage a team of 2-3 paralegals and ensure your team can manage a volume caseload with minimal assistance.  You will have account responsibility for managing referrals from key  and be required to attend their regional meetings from time to time, seeking to establish a co-working relationship with our suppliers, to help meet their deadlines and targets.  You will need to ensure that your paralegals retain strong relations with work providers and are familiar with forecasts to enable them to work together with their providers to achieve common targets.

You will be required to attend the office on a regular basis during your probation period for training and supervision purposes.   There will be an opportunity for agile working once successful completion of probation.
