The team

The Digital Learning Team forms part of the Knowledge & Development Team. Our purpose is to inspire everyone in Shoosmiths to unlock their potential by providing the highest quality training to allow them to be excellent at their job. The Digital Learning Team provide Digital Learning materials to our colleagues for compliance training and to support personal and professional development. Some of our courses are available for sale to external clients who login to our learning portal Horizon.

The role

As the LMS Specialist, you will provide support to the Digital Learning Team, provide technical support to our internal and external clients, and administrate the Learning Management System (LMS). This may include, but not be limited to the following:

Main responsibilities
  • Managing the Firm’s LMS, for example by uploading content and resources to the LMS,
  • Ensure the consistency, quality, and accuracy of existing content,
  • Create and maintain our internal and external user accounts i.e. new starters, leavers, transfers etc,
  • Provide first line support on the use of our LMS for internal and external client,
  • Create and maintain internal processes i.e. data deletion, renewal tracking, client billing and profit tracking.
  • Administrate and maintain the Digital Learning inbox and respond to internal and external queries such as password resets, reminders, completion notifications and learning enquiries.
  • Liaise with the other K&D teams and with other teams across the business to help raise awareness and improve our profile,
  • Create and maintain reports and upload training data records to the LMS,
  • You will have an interest in eLearning and learning technology in general,

The role requires interaction with key stakeholders and employees within Shoosmiths, and with external clients, therefore excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential.

Skills and qualifications

Experience in administration of a Learning Management System (LMS) preferably Totara Learn

  • Excellent English language and grammar skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines
  • A polite and confident telephone manner
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manipulate data and create reports

Desirable knowledge and skills:
 

  • Experience of using Adobe Captivate
  • Experience of using ADAPT authoring tool
