The team

Our national Employment team is widely respected for providing an excellent service, providing pragmatic and timely legal advice to its highly regarded client base. The team primarily works with employer clients along with some individual advisory work and a mix of both contentious and non-contentious matters. We also have specialists in advocacy, corporate work and business immigration.

The role

Working with the Birmingham, Nottingham and Milton Keynes Employment teams to provide a comprehensive and quality administrative support service.  Training will be given for all internal and external systems.

Main responsibilities

This role includes but is not limited to the following: -

  • Opening and closing client files.
  • Assisting with preparation and issuing of client engagement terms.
  • Assisting with raising client invoices and work narratives and liaising with legal advisers to finalise and submit invoices.
  • Preparing billing letters/emails in conjunction with legal advisers and sending invoices to clients.
  • Supporting with cash collection assessments and reporting to/liaising with clients regarding payment of unpaid invoices.
  • Requesting and returning files from archive.
  • Managing and updating relevant client activity reports and information stored on online platforms which are accessible to clients.
  • Undertaking review of Employment Tribunal deadlines and diarising key dates in legal advisers’ diaries.
  • Scanning to our document management system.
  • Printing, copying and collating documentation.
  • Typing of documents such as file notes and assisting with various other tasks and duties as required. 
Skills and qualifications
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Friendly, positive attitude and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to maintain high standards whilst carrying out day to day tasks within the team.
  • Good typing skills.
  • Attention to detail and possess a neat and tidy approach to working practices.
  • Pleasant telephone manner.
  • A friendly and helpful approach to the team.
  • Must be organised and pay close attention to detail.
  • To work well alone and within the team.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
