The team

The Digital Learning Team forms part of the Learning & Development Team. Whose purpose is to enable people to be their best selves and realise their potential – driving individual, team and organisational performance by providing the highest quality training to allow them to be excellent at their job. The Digital Learning Team provides Digital Learning materials, including multi-media, to our colleagues for compliance training, to support personal and professional development and for training, promotion and information. Some of our courses are available for sale to external clients who login to our learning portal Horizon.

The role

The aim of the Digital Learning Team is to design, develop, and manage innovative learning solutions internally to all Shoosmiths staff as well as to our clients.

The key responsibilities of this role are to design, create, and maintain high quality innovative learning solutions for clients and internal staff, and to provide administration support of the LMS.

We have a strong brand at Shoosmiths, but creativity is still important, and you are encouraged to bring your own flare and ideas to the solutions you will create. We aim to create effective and creative ways of reaching our audiences, whether that is through onboarding, compulsory, skills etc. training.

In this role you will interact with key stakeholders around the business and with external clients, which means that excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.

Skills and qualifications

Essential skills or knowledge:

  • Experience using instructional design techniques to design effective eLearning solutions
  • Ability to think creatively and develop ways of reaching our audiences with your training
  • Ability to keep abreast of industry best practices to enhance your training
  • Confidence during the scripting/storyboarding process, and to challenge SME’s where required
  • Knowledge in (or experience of) authoring software, ideally Captivate and/or Adapt
  • Skilled in computer applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, & Internet Navigation)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines
  • A polite and confident telephone manner

 

Training will be provided but knowledge or experience in the areas below would be desirable.

Desirable skills or knowledge:

  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including After Effects, Photoshop etc
