The team

Our national banking and finance team advises clients on a range of financing transactions across a wide variety of sectors, often with a multi-jurisdictional element. Acting for borrowers, lenders and investors means we have a practical understanding of the needs of all parties to a financing transaction. Our expertise extends to corporate lending, leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate finance (both investment and development), project finance and invoice discounting both on a bilateral and a syndicated basis. We work closely with some of the UK's major banks and financial institutions, and have approved panel status with many of them.

Our national team is going from strength to strength, having welcomed four new partners in the last twelve months. We are delighted that Fiona Cameron joined us last year to spearhead the Scotland banking and finance team.  Fiona’s team works on a wide range of financing transactions. We are excited to be expanding our Banking practice in Scotland and are now recruiting in order to support that new appointment

The role

We have an opportunity for an a new additional Associate (NQ+)  to join our fast growing Scotland team. We have an established banking team nationally which operate as one therefore you'll benefit from taking part in shaping the local team and brand whilst having the structure and support to help you progress in your career. 

The work on offer is varied across all mainstream forms of finance and the successful candidate will be working on the full transaction lifecycle including drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documents (both LMA and non-LMA form), negotiating intercreditor arrangements, overseeing conditions precedent processes and any other matters relating to live lending transactions. With a consistent volume of transactions, this is an excellent platform to assume matter responsibility and there is ample opportunity to participate in client development initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will have completed a seat in banking in their current firm; they will be naturally proactive in their approach and will be as passionate as us in what we do. You will have experience liaising with borrowers, lenders and/or investors on the full transaction lifecycle and be confident reviewing conditions precedent and drafting security documents. We are looking for someone with strong general banking experience. Working closely with the local and national banking team, we would expect you to be able to support and assist others in the team on a range of work, including leveraged finance, real estate finance, corporate lending and ABL.
