The role

Due to the team’s continued growth, we are looking for an Associate (2 yr PQE +) to join our Wealth Protection team in Birmingham.

In this role you will have the opportunity to have direct client contact and responsibility for your own caseload as well as assisting more senior colleagues on a wide variety of matters.

Supporting our national team, we would expect you to be able to both assist and take the lead on a range of work such as advising on tax efficient succession planning including Wills and trusts, trust administration, lasting powers of attorney, probate and the administration of estates. Clients will be varied, from landowners to shareholders in family businesses and directors of companies and their families.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in advising high net worth clients on the full spectrum of Wealth Protection matters and be keen to take an active part in any business development initiatives.

The team

Our specialist Wealth Protection team is experienced in managing and implementing the bespoke strategies required to safeguard our clients’ personal wealth and business assets. The team are renowned for providing the specialist knowledge needed for even the most sensitive of cases.

Our expertise ranges from the preparation of Wills and trusts, estate administration, inheritance tax and succession planning to legal advice concerning mental capacity issues, dealing with the Court of Protection and charity law matters. Our clients expect solutions that combine expertise, diligence and imagination to protect their assets and safeguard their wealth both short and long term.

Thoughtful and informed planning as well as professionally executed strategies are the hallmarks of the service provided by Shoosmiths' Wealth Protection team. They have proven expertise in advising a wide range of high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients with a variety of backgrounds and sources of wealth.
