The team

Enthusiastic and ambitious individuals sought to join our busy Client Services Team (‘CST’), a specialist team within Commercial Real Estate which bridges the gap between transactional Real Estate work and tax team work dealing with the Stamp Duty Land Tax and Land Transaction Tax elements of all commercial Real Estate transactions carried out by the firm in England and Wales

The role

The successful candidate will review initial instructions into the team, triage matters, raise any queries re missing information, make any necessary referrals to tax team, allocate work to the junior members of the team and supervise the production of that work,  manage a caseload of intermediate -complex matters and identify / refer any complex work up to the head of the team.

You will also be carrying out the SDLT/LTT calculations (not just filling in the relevant tax returns) based on information provided by the transactional legal advisor for the matter.

Skills and qualifications
  • The succesful candidate will need to have strong organisational skills; be reliable / conscientious; have excellent attention to detail and be computer literate with the Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Excellent technical skills in the completion of Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns and Land Transaction Tax Returns is essential for all candidates (although targeted training to deal with any knowledge gaps in role will be provided)
  • Strong experience in running SDLT / LTT calculations and submitting Returns. You will have a thorough understanding of all the transactions required at junior level and be able to deal with more complex matters in addition.  Experience of supervising others would be beneficial.
