The team

This role will be based in our Real Estate Corporate Conveyancing team who deal with residential conveyancing acting on behalf of Corporate Buyers and Sellers. You will be involved with the end-to-end conveyancing life-cycle which will include but not limited to obtaining documents from land registry, liaising with clients, third parties and other solicitors, procuring conveyancing searches, processing exchange of contracts, completion procedures, dealing with Land Registry requisitions and registration procedures.

The role

We are looking for an experienced paralegal to join the team in Leeds. In particular, we would like to hear from those with prior experience in a residential conveyancing or real estate role.
This is a busy team and we want to allow you to continue to grow your legal knowledge and experience with us.  You will be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.  We want to see a positive ‘can do attitude with a willingness to learn and the ability to get the job done.  You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure. You will be handling a number of tasks at any one time and you will need to manage expectations and your own workload with efficiency and care. In return you will be given hands-on experience and responsibility for providing an excellent service for our clients - a rewarding role.

Main responsibilities
  • Managing a high volume of tasks for key clients, ensuring SLAs are met
  • Communicating effectively and confidently with external solicitors (both in writing and by telephone) to deal with queries in relation to both post-completion work and own tasks.
  • Completing client reports
  • Assisting with various other tasks as required
Skills and qualifications
  • Good knowledge of the conveyancing life-cycle (including post-completion) with 6 - 12 months experience in a residential conveyancing or real estate role.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to deliver a quality service to both internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as working on one’s own initiative.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic with a positive, can do attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of various applications – word, excel, outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail taken with all correspondence and documentation.
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.
