Professional Support Lawyer (Part-time)

The role

Our Commercial team is looking for a Professional Support Lawyer to join us on a part-time basis. You’d be working with another dedicated Commercial PSL with particular responsibility for Knowledge Management for this practice area.

This role will be integral to maintaining a first rate know-how platform for lawyers across our commercial team. It will be intellectually challenging and stimulating work to draw out your expertise in this area and support our fee-earners deliver an up to date gold service for our clients.

We are looking for an experienced commercial lawyer (6 yr PQE+) with sound technical knowledge and an enthusiastic approach to service excellence. This is an innovative, progressive team and you will have every opportunity to add value and develop your skill set.

Our commercial team people spans our national office network and we can be flexible with where this role is based to suit you. We take pride in an agile and flexible workplace culture and can also consider remote working for this role.

The team

Our 28 Partner, 90 strong Commercial Practice boasts market leaders in TMT, Data Privacy,  Financial Services, IP and Commercial & Projects.

As part of the wider Business Advisory Division, you would join a team of PSLs with expertise across commercial, financial services, litigation, pensions and employment. The PSL remit covers division wide projects such as compliance, our intranet, process enhancement, briefings and knowledge management.

Main responsibilities

Whilst there may be scope to support in activities such as Business Development and Legal Training, the core responsibilities for this role will be:

  • Know How: to support the development of the internal intranet site including knowledge bank.
  • Precedents:  To support the production of a new and maintaining commercial precedents and know how notes. 
  • Library: to support the maintenance and development of both the online and hard copy library and other reference materials as required.
  • To deal with and respond to ad hoc enquiries received from across the Practice Group and across the firm.
  • Research: to support the Commercial Group by being able to answer/respond to specific legal queries on client matters, ranging from straightforward questions through to larger more complicated research tasks.
