The team

Our National Real Estate team is one of the leading and largest UK Real Estate teams, recently winning “Legal Team of the Year” at the Estates Gazette awards. We are spread nationally across all offices and represent an impressive range of household name clients from developers, investors and corporate occupiers through to banks and funders on some of the highest value and profile projects around.

The Southern Real Estate Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the teams based in Milton Keynes, Reading and Southampton.  

Main responsibilities
  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of a large portfolio of properties, including the population of information into standard form documents, the issue of engrossments, liaising with clients on replies to standard form enquiries, preparing completion statements and attending to completion
  • Dealing with requisitions/queries in relation to pre and post completion matters
  • Assisting with post-completion Real Estate transactional work, including pulling together information required by our Client Services Team to complete and submit SDLT returns, making HM Land Registry applications and replying to HM Land Registry requisitions within the required time period
  • Setting up and uploading information to data rooms and interactive client platforms
  • Drafting simple licences to assign, licences to alter, deeds of surrender, deeds of variation and leases by reference
  • Communicating with clients and external solicitors (both in writing, by e-mail and telephone)
  • Completing property reports and schedules
Skills and qualifications
  • Degree and LPC or CILEX qualified
  • Is client centric in their approach
  • A high level of attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to grasp things quickly and easily
  • Enthusiastic with a positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour
  • Good working knowledge of various IT applications – word, excel, outlook
  • Understanding that some work outside of contracted hours may be required to ensure client demands are met
  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to change and new practices
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified (sometimes short) timescales
  • Thrives in working in a team environment as well as comfortable with working on own initiative
  • The successful applicant will be required to work primarily out of the Milton Keynes office.
