The team

Our national banking and finance team advises clients on a range of financing transactions across a wide variety of sectors, often with a multi-jurisdictional element. Acting for borrowers, lenders and investors means we have a practical understanding of the needs of all parties to a financing transaction. Our expertise extends to corporate lending, leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate finance (both investment and development), project finance and invoice discounting both on a bilateral and a syndicated basis. We work closely with some of the UK's major banks and financial institutions, and have approved panel status with many of them..

The role

This is a new position, created to support our existing Banking & Finance PSL in automating, maintaining, developing our precedents and other knowledge resources.  The ideal candidate will be a Banking & Finance lawyer with experience in document automation and precedent development.

  • Develop automated precedents and documentation suites using existing and new documentation.
  • Develop precedents, associated guidance and supporting materials for use in a range of finance transactions.
  • Maintain precedents to reflect changes in law, practice, client requirements and LMA documentation.
  • Build and maintain knowledge resources from practice guidance through to drafting / knowledge banks.
  • Support the Banking & Finance team, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and the use of knowledge resources.
Skills and qualifications
  • Banking & Finance lawyer with 2 – 5 years + PQE working in a transactional or professional support / knowledge role.
  • A strong interest in document automaton is essential. Experience in document automation would be ideal but training can be provided. 
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills.
  • Understanding of legal business with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Team-player who can work with a friendly and supportive team.

 

We offer a competitive salary and flexible hours (minimum three days per week).  Our Banking & Finance PSL team work out of the Thames Valley office but you can be anywhere in the UK provided you can reach one of our offices periodically.
