The team

Our Real Estate group is one of the largest real estate teams in the UK, advising an impressive range of clients including commercial and residential developers, investors, major corporate occupiers and banks/funders. Main responsibilities
  • Dealing with appropriate Land Registry enquiries from legal advisors, and liaising with Land Registry services to discuss submission of applications.
  • Preparing Land Registry applications according to instructions and, subject to approval, submitting those applications within the appropriate timescale.
  • Diarising all critical dates relating to applications and ensuring they are met.
  • Entering instructions and applications onto the Land Registry Tracker and keeping it up to date.
  • Reviewing the tracker and diary at the start of each week and taking appropriate action to meet deadlines.
  • Notifying the relevant legal advisor of requisitions raised and requesting instructions where appropriate to deal with those requisitions.
  • Notifying the relevant legal advisor on completion of an application.
  • Saving all appropriate information and documentation to the SDLT and Post Completion application folder in Macroview.
  • Notifying Land Registry Supervisor of any planned absences and agree how workloads will be managed.
  • Working with the national team of Land Registry administrators where required to assist with projects and workloads.
Skills and qualifications
  • LLB and LPC or CILEX qualified.
  • At least 6-12 months previous paralegal experience, ideally within real estate
  • A high level of attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach
  • Understanding that some work outside of contracted hours may be required to ensure client demands are met
  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to change and new practices
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and find solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified (sometimes short) timescales
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good sense of humour and able to integrate within a smaller team as well as working on own initiative
  • Ability to deliver a superb client service to both internal and external clients
