The role

As the IS Learning Manager you will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of the?firm’s training?portfolio. The role will manage the tailor-made training, including face-to-face, online, and blended learning. You will manage and develop strong relationships with all relevant?senior managers and?stakeholders, alongside?developing and?delivering training programs for all employees and Partners. The role will be expected to monitor and report on the training effectiveness within the firm and deliver a ‘how do I’ support function to the firm.

Main responsibilities
  • Oversees the strategic development and delivery of the firm’s training programmes for new starters and existing employees and Partners that includes face-to-face, virtual, group sessions, training videos and other suitable training methods.

  • Determines training needs and requirements for the organisation by meeting with managers, talking with employees and Partners, or administering surveys.

  • Monitor’s the training programme ensuring it is engaging and effective, recommending changes where required.

  • Works with managers to address learning issues, instruction problems, or new educational needs regarding specific employees or departments.

  • Maintains understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods.

  • Provides a ‘How Do I’ support service from within the team to supplement the IS support service.

  • Where required, presents in-person and online training sessions.

  • IS?skills, in particular within the Microsoft application stack.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of legal services and the business processes coupled with risks posed by the threat actors and the techniques used to exploit vulnerabilities

Experience, qualifications, and other role-specific requirements

Essential

  • Five or more years?delivering an IS training programme.

Preferred

  • Two or more years strategic experience designing and improving an IS training programme.

  • Experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or other service sector industry.

Additional details

Travel to other Shoosmiths offices will be necessary on occasions. It is essential that the IS Learning Manager can work flexible or extended hours to complete some tasks outside of core business hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
