The team

Our Litigation Services team in Scotland provide a broad range of commercial dispute resolution services, acting for clients across a number of key sectors and industries. 

The team covers a range of specialisms including commercial litigation, debt recovery, property litigation, insolvency, and lending and banking disputes.  The team litigates in the Court of Session and in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland, and is also well-practiced in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.

The team won ‘Debt Recovery Firm of the Year’ at the prestigious Law Awards of Scotland in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is ranked in Tier 1 for Debt Recovery in the Legal 500.  It was also highly commended in “Litigation Team of the Year” category in the Scottish Legal Awards in 2019 and shortlisted again in that category for 2020.  Both of our partners, Andrew Foyle and Stuart Clubb are ranked lawyers in the Chambers UK guide.

The role

The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the teams in the Scottish Litigation team.

Main responsibilities
  • File management within the case management system
  • Completing assigned tasks within the case management system
  • Making and taking telephone calls from customers and clients and third parties
  • Assisting the department with any other administrative tasks as directed by your line manager
  • Taking personal responsibility for compliance with all relevant  regulatory requirements and client and internal Service Level Agreements
Skills and qualifications

You will need the following skills and experience:-

  • IT literate with experience of using Word, Excel and the internet
  • Good written, numeracy and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise, be organised and efficient
  • Flexibility with the capability to adapt to change, new practices and cope under pressure but with the ability to recognise when to seek assistance
  • Able to integrate within a team and able to work on your own initiative
  • Friendly and helpful approach
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) to include Maths and English.
