The team

Our excellent national team continues to be synonymous with high profile insolvency matters and is regarded as one of the leading teams in the mid-market.

Our team of skilled national insolvency and restructuring lawyers has a broad range of experience across the full spectrum of insolvency and restructuring, with particular emphasis on supporting insolvency practitioners, banks and asset based lenders. We provide advice to company directors and businesses operating with financial difficulties, providing bespoke and innovative solutions. We recognise that in insolvency scenarios our clients will need urgent practical advice, which is why we pride ourselves on our fast response times, offering constructive, commercial and clear advice in a straightforward manner, to provide clients with solutions tailored to their objectives.

As well as specialising in non-contentious insolvency issues, we can also deal with insolvency litigation, acting for insolvency practitioners and creditors in recovering funds through the use of corporate and insolvency legislation.

The role

Due to growth we are now looking for an experienced Principal Associate/ Legal Director to join the team in London, with a focus on the non-contentious cases that we have.

This role will involve advising on all matters relating to the financial or operational restructuring of a corporate entity or a group of corporate entities.   The role will involve taking a lead on mandates overseeing work undertaken by junior fee earners and co-ordinating advice received from other departments.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Advising on all aspects relating to the UK corporate insolvency processes;
  • Advising on company voluntary arrangements and restructuring plans;
  • Advising on transactions out of an insolvency process whether acting for seller or purchaser;
  • Providing directors’ duties advice and general trading advice for companies in financial difficulties;
  • Advising on international groups and cross border insolvency related matters.

The candidate will also be expected to actively market both internally and externally and, whilst not essential, evidence the ability to procure or effect referrals from the market.
