The team

Shoosmiths’ Performance & Talent Development (P&TD) Team enables our people to be their best selves & realise their potential - driving individual, team & organisational performance as a result.

We aspire to be a market leading team, recognised for our offering & the quality of our delivery. This exciting new role will have responsibility for supporting Shoosmiths’ people in a range of internal development activities.

The role

You will report to the Senior Performance & Talent Development Coach - to help evolve, improve & deliver the firm’s People & Culture Strategy; aligning the learning needs of our people with the strategic ambitions & objectives of the firm.

Main responsibilities
  • Conduct the full learning and development cycle across several career development programmes for legal advisers and business services colleagues starting out in their careers with Shoosmiths.
  • Design experiential learning content in collaboration with subject matter experts from across the firm.
  • Organise learning materials in collaboration with our digital content team to maximise learning opportunities through blended content.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships and work on strategic training projects to align learning and development initiatives with the organisational goals.
  • Utilise current and developing technologies and learning techniques to enhance the learning experience.
  • Engage with firmwide initiatives and be an ambassador for our strategic ambitions and values.
  • One-to-one coaching and group co-coaching across the firm to support colleagues starting out in their careers through to those transitioning to their first management positions.
Skills and qualifications
  • Confident and impactful facilitation and presenting skills, delivering to a wide range of audiences, face-to-face and virtually.
  • Collaborative team worker in a hybrid team working environment.
  • Experience of designing blended learning programmes.
  • Works on own initiative and proactively seeks opportunities to innovate and improve processes.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues across the firm.
  • One-to-one coaching using recognised coaching models (e.g. GROW).
  • External coaching qualification (desirable).
  • Accredited practitioner of psychometric / behavioural assessment tools. (desirable).
