SAP BW Technical Analyst

Shoosmiths have recently implemented the first instance of the SAP legal template. We are therefore looking for an experienced SAP BW Technical Analyst with experience of the end-to-end development life-cycle including: requirements gathering, gap analysis, design, build, test, deliver and support.

Candidates must have experience of leading/owning full end-to-end cycles of development. 

In addition, candidates must be willing to take ownership of development tasks without the need for close supervision.

Preference will be given to candidates who meet the above criteria and who can demonstrate they have developed and implemented innovative solutions and/or solutions for complex requirements.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and contribute ideas and to help build the BI team, helping to develop the reputation within the organisation.

As the team is in its infancy, this is a great opportunity to be part of a team at an early stage with many development projects in the pipeline.

• Minimum of 2 full life cycle implementations
• Business Objects implementation experience
• BW Back-end technical skills to include: 
  • Implementing Business Content
  • Development of Custom SAP Extractors and Datasources
  • Modification of SAP Extractors
  • Creation of BW Objects (Characteristics, Datasources, DSOs, InfoCubes, MultiProviders)
  • Strong ABAP skills (more than basic transformation ABAP)
  • Data migration experience or evidence of any project requiring close scrutiny of data.
  • Experience of designing solutions to include:
    • Liaising with business to fully understand requirements
    • Design and build solutions from requirements
    • Coordinating User Acceptance Testing
  • Writing and updating documentation.
  • Experience of FICO, SD, PS, CATS, HR (including functional understanding) 
• SAP BW 7.x
• Building Process Chains including steps such as ABAP calls, Interrupts, etc. 
• SAP technical experience to include:
  • Knowledge of key SAP tables and structures 
  • Building custom tables
  • Developing Function Modules and BADIs
  • CMOD developments 
• Business Explorer tools:
  • BEx Analyser
  • Query Designer
  • Web Application Designer
  • Custom Exits; RKFs; CKFs; Conditions; Exceptions
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Support:

• Provide support to business users and other team members.
• Occasional out of hours support
• Trouble-shooting and fixing of process chain errors, data issues, etc.
• User Training
