The team

The Private Client Practice Group (PCPG) is made up of the following departments:  Wealth Protection, Family, Conveyancing, Personal Injury, Medical Negligence, and other Legal Disputes including Contentious Probate, Professional Negligence, Education and Residential Landlord and Tenant.  The departments are spread over a number of offices in Basingstoke, Birmingham, Manchester, Milton Keynes, London, Northampton, Nottingham, Reading, Southampton and Edinburgh.  PCPG provides legal services for individuals and their families ranging from buying a house, writing a will, getting a divorce to claiming compensation for personal injury or medical negligence and receiving advice to ensure wealth protection.

The role

To provide administrative support to the Private Client Practice Group Professional Support Lawyer.    Some travel to other offices may be required.

Main responsibilities
  • Assisting with PCPG Training requirements including liaising with speakers and attendees, sending invites out, creating evaluation forms and attendance forms, preparing delegate packs and setting up training rooms, keeping accurate records and logging department training activity, evaluation and feedback;
  • Assisting with individual membership requirements of legal adviser within PCPG, including renewing memberships, calling for information to meet any reporting obligations due under memberships and keeping records of membership requirements;
  • Recording PCPG legal resources both hardcopy and online resources, responding to enquiries for new resources; keeping PCPG office libraries up-to-date;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of PGPC intranet pages, including creating new content and updating current content, being involved in creation of new pages;
  • Support for the annual PCPG training event; and
  • Providing administrative support in relation to any other projects and activity that may arise
Skills and qualifications
  • Legal graduate or previous Administrator or Training Administrator experience within professional services required.
  • Good IT skills to include advanced/intermediate in excel.  Experience of creating diary entries desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work without direct supervision at times
  • A methodical and organised approach with keen attention paid to every detail
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.
  • Friendly and helpful approach to dealing with queries
