The firm

Shoosmiths - UK Law Firm of the Year Winner at the Legal Week British Legal Awards 2015.

A leading UK law firm with a network of offices from the South Coast to Scotland, working together as one national team. An innovative practice and the first top 100 law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People, our values and culture are not just words on our website but are the heartbeat of the firm. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and pomposity makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.

The team

Our Real Estate team is one of the largest in the UK, representing an impressive range of clients from developers, investors and corporate occupiers, banks and other funders

The role

We are now looking to recruit solicitors from NQ-6PQE into our Thames Valley team based in Reading, and are seeking candidates demonstrating strong commercial and technical experience in representing clients on a variety of real estate matters. We are particularly interested in candidates who can show experience in acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant transactions, and property finance. The successful candidate will work closely and in partnership with clients and have significant opportunities to be involved in business development.

Skills and qualifications

An excellent academic record and training with a leading city, national or regional firm is required in addition to client relationship, communication and organisational skills. A commercial and collaborative approach with the ability to progress work quickly is essential. This is a fantastic role within a friendly, ambitious and supportive team and office which has been involved in a number of ‘stand-out’ real estate transactions in recent years.

Equal opportunities

Shoosmiths is a committed Equal Opportunities employer promoting equality of opportunity. This means that everyone who either applies to or works for the firm is treated equally, whatever their gender, age, ethnic origin, nationality, marital status, disability, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
