The team

Our award winning national Corporate team, which in 2016 has topped the Experian MaketIQ (Corpfin) UK & Ireland M&A league table to become the UK’s leading legal adviser by deal volume, is led by a team of Partners widely regarded as leaders in their field and who are regularly recommended by clients for their reputation, personalities and outstanding expertise.

The role

This is a challenging and exciting role within a new team, where you will be tasked with assisting on due diligence, drafting ancillary documents and be involved in the administration and management of projects such as investments, acquisitions and disposals.

Working alongside the associates in the team you will support them with advisory and transactional work. You will ideally have completed the LPC and have undertaken electives in corporate and finance related areas. You will be exposed to complex and challenging work, in a partner led environment and will learn a huge amount in a very short space of time.

Main responsibilities
  • Assist with the drafting of general documents and letters
  • Manage their own workload
  • Must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in corporate and finance law and want to progress
  • Opening files, file management and archiving
  • Maintenance of up to date client database
  • Participating in marketing activities
Skills and qualifications
  • Law graduate, ideally completed LPC
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned with the specified timescales
  • A methodical and organised approach with keen attention paid to every detail
  • Be commercially aware and highly client focussed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-confident and ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to grasp things quickly and easily
  • Enthusiastic, energetic with a positive, can do attitude
  • Good working knowledge of various applications word, excel, outlook, digital dictation
  • Ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure and find solutions
