The Department is recognised as a leading private client team in the South East / London. Two of the Partners are recognised as leaders in their field. The Department’s clients include high net worth individuals and families, trustees and entrepreneurs based both in the UK and overseas.
A significant and growing proportion of the department’s workload and turnover derives from Probate and Estate Administration work, from simple through to highly complex estates. The preparation, updating and finalising of Estate Accounts, and dealing with associated tax compliance and clearances, is an important strand in the efficient delivery of this work, and there is an opportunity for a dedicated Probate & Estate Administration Accountant to join our busy and friendly team.
The work will include assisting with the following:
- Drawing up, regularly updating, and finalising Estate Accounts
- Dealing with deceased’s lifetime tax affairs
- Annual Tax Returns for estate administration period
- Complying with Estate Registration Service requirements where necessary
- Obtaining relevant tax clearances
- Preparation of Forms R185 for beneficiaries
- Liaising with third parties including HMRC
- Liaising with lawyers in the team
