We're expanding our funds and corporate team and looking for an experienced and flexible Cayman-based attorney to join us.  For this varied role across investments funds, corporate and finance matters, you'll need approx. 5 years PQE, solid Cayman law technical skills, an open-minded approach and enjoy working in a collegiate environment.

Purpose of role

Associates in our financial services law practice enjoy a varied working day, providing legal advice relating to investment funds, corporate and commercial law, general financial services, insurance and reinsurance. Our hand-picked legal team has earned a reputation for offering technical expertise coupled with commercial awareness and an understanding of our clients' desire for prompt response times and a solution-orientated service.

Although there is likely to be a focus on funds work, the nature of this varied practice means we need a generalist with strong Cayman law knowledge.

Main responsibilities

  • Providing legal services to clients, under the supervision of partners and/or senior associates (according to level). This will include researching, drafting, negotiating and advising on various legal matters.
  • Getting involved in a range of know-how initiatives.
  • Being an ambassador – selling our services and promoting our brand through business development activities.
  • Maintaining system based filing systems and managing paperwork (bibles) to ensure all documents are stored appropriately.
  • Proactively managing all financial disciplines and ensuring timely billings/collections.
  • Adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations as required.
  • Taking responsibility for a wide range of tasks/projects as required by the partners in the group.

Qualifications

  • A UK/Commonwealth legal qualification + Cayman qualified 
  • Around 5 years PQE
