The department

Our international private client team provides specialist BVI, Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey trust, foundation and related corporate law advice to individual and institutional clients. We are highly regarded for the quality of our work and have earned over many years an excellent reputation for our client service.

Purpose of the job

To support the partners and associates in order to deliver the IPC team strategy by providing a high quality and efficient administration service across a broad range of tasks and initiatives.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting with matter opening and the client take-on/CDD processes
  • Assisting with billing and matter closing processes, scanning and photocopying
  • Taking client calls, scheduling client meetings, seminars and other events as needed
  • Updating the Client Relationship Management system
  • Supporting fee earners with the preparation of basic deeds based on precedents, to include notarial certificates
  • Performing legal research
  • Attending client meetings/calls with fee earners and taking notes
  • Assisting with proof-reading and general file management (e.g. saving documents to the correct folders, making bibles, etc.)
  • Supporting the team's business development initiatives, including IPC Twitter and WeChat
  • Carrying out additional supporting tasks and projects as may be delegated by the partners and associates

 

Qualifications

  • Good secondary education to A-level standard or an academic degree

 

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Some knowledge of Mandarin is desirable
  • Ideally some previous experience in an office environment
  • Confident user of technology and IT systems, to include Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and the ability to learn and develop knowledge of the law
