In addition to traditional knowledge management services to support legal client work, the knowledge team at Bedell Cristin also work across the whole firm to deliver a range of legal technical, business operational, process improvement, product development, pricing, and legal systems projects.

Purpose of the job

To provide knowledge solutions to the global practice on behalf of the Head of Knowledge. To ensure all knowledge resources are maintained to ensure risk management, quality control, and consistency of approach across all of our teams and offices.

This role will suit someone who looking for experience prior to embarking on a career in law or legal operations with Bedell Cristin.

Main responsibilities

  • Managing the global CPL database and protecting its integrity through strict quality control processes
  • Applying Bedell Style to all documents and supporting the adoption of Bedell Style across the global practice
  • Automating documents and maintaining templates for relevant practice teams
  • Assisting in new legal ops projects, maintaining project documentation and attending project meetings
  • Curating and maintaining content on our Searchlight and other global knowledge platforms
  • Providing current awareness updates using the Vable platform
  • Undertaking legal and business research to support client matter work
  • Providing new starter training and service updates
  • Supporting our thought leadership campaigns and preparing content for the website
  • Liaising with internal teams and external service providers, as required, to maintain service lines
  • Covering for the absences of other knowledge team members
  • Any other duties as required by the Head of Knowledge

Qualifications

  • Ideally a UK Law degree or Law conversion course (GDL) 

 Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Some law firm experience desirable but not essential
  • Good IT skills and a basic understanding of use of technology in a law firm setting is desirable but not essential
  • Client centric approach to services
  • Able to represent the team and the firm professionally and positively both internally and externally
