The department

Our practice enjoys a varied working day, providing legal advice relating to investment funds (both open and closed ended), financing, corporate and commercial law and general financial services.

We need an individual with solid administrative skills,a willingness to adapt to a broad practice a client-centric and commercial approach and the ability to think on their feet.

Purpose of the job

To work as part of the team providing a full range of legal services to our clients.  This will entail supporting the partners and associates across a range of matters in the banking, corporate/commercial, funds and regulatory sectors.

Main responsibilities

  • Reviewing and summarising legal documents
  • Performing legal research and analysis
  • Printing and collation of legal documents for completions
  • Checking legal forms/documents for accuracy
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and correspondence
  • Assisting in drafting a range of legal documents
  • Maintaining system based filing systems to ensure all documents are stored appropriately
  • Assisting in file openings and AML enquiries
  • Supporting the team's marketing and business development plans
  • Adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations
  • Taking responsibility for a wide range of tasks/projects as required by the team

 

Qualifications

  • High School or degree level educated
  • Having qualified as a legal practitioner or having completed a recognised paralegal course of study

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Some previous experience in a legal environment, ideally in a similar role
  • Document management experience would be useful.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and ability to learn about Cayman Islands law
