Purpose of job
  • To appraise the firm’s approach to marketing and business development to ensure it is fit for purpose, is both dynamic and contemporary, and supports the firm’s strategic objectives and ambitions. 
  • To develop the firm’s strategic approach to understanding and meeting client needs and drive a client-focused organisation
  • To design and implement the firm's brand and marketing strategy
  • To identify, create and support business development initiatives
  • To increase the level of integration and synchronicity to BD & Marketing initiatives across the whole firm.
Accountabilities
  • Manage and monitor the firm’s client care programme to create and embed a culture of client service excellence across the business
  • Provide insight and expertise into client account management and growth through client listening and training programmes
  • Develop, maintain and enhance the positioning of the firm’s brand in the marketplace and deliver client-centric marketing processes and plans
  • Develop, maintain and enhance the understanding of relevant industry and client segments and the appropriate positioning of the firm’s services
  • Gather and analyse client, competitor and intermediary intelligence
  • Lead and optimise the business development and marketing function in terms of structure, targets, capability and motivation to meet the ongoing needs of the business
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across the business; identifying and deploying best practice collaboratively within that community
  • Manage the overall team performance to ensure the team has the appropriate direction, skills and resources to provide a high-quality service

Data Privacy:

  • Reviewing and managing your team/employee competencies and training needs to enable them to perform their role effectively within the information security space;
  • Ensuring that your team/ employees are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of information security objectives.
  • Partner/Director/Managers have the authority to arrange training and awareness activities for the employees under their direction, within budget constraints and act to prevent an information security incident from occurring or escalating, where possible.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Prior experience in a similar role (ideally within the professional services sector) and able to demonstrate a track record of success
  • Experience of developing and delivering strategic marketing, business development and client care initiatives across teams, offices, practice areas and sectors.
  • Established line management experience directing and developing a high performing and engaged teams.
  • Ideally of graduate calibre with a recognised Business Development and / or Marketing qualification

  • Good analytical skills and experience of reporting ROI and managing a marketing budget
  • Self-motivated with the knowledge, drive and energy to challenge the status quo and impart new ideas and new initiatives in a logical and inclusive and manner
