Purpose of job

This is a fantastic opportunity to further your facilities management career. This is a new and exciting role and the successful candidate will support and deliver the requirements of hard services contracts, and manage the day to day operational provision and maintenance of integrated hard services within the Birketts infrastructure.

This is a diverse role with a wide range of responsibilities including health & safety, budgeting, procurement, statutory and regulatory compliance, reactive and planned maintenance and project and contract management. In addition, the successful candidate will work alongside the Operations manager and support the Operations Director in delivering a class leading service to the business and clients.


Reporting to the Operations Director, the Estates and Infrastructure Manager will lead the Estates team and manage PPM and reactive works across a range of hard services. Dealing directly with staff, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver a proactive service which supports the contractual KPI’s, SLAs and the business.

  • Previous experience and knowledge of Facilities Management (Hard and soft services).
  • You will have a broad M&E experience, ideally with a strong building management background.
  • Proven experience of managing and developing employees within a business environment and maximising the performance of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to work with senior management.
  • Experience of procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc) and information databases.
  • A sound understanding of implementing and operating robust Safe Systems of work to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of Hard Services
  • Management of sub contracts for various Hard Service disciplines.
  • To formulate, develop and implement systems that will ensure buildings are maintained and operated in accordance with maintenance schedules, current legislation and regulation.
  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and ensure the highest levels of Health and Safety are achieved across the business.
  • Provide technical, professional support and guidance to the Operations Director.
  • Commercially aware with budgetary, contract and procurement experience
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads, meeting SLAs and deadlines.
  • Cover the Operations Manager during periods of absence.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Facilities Management (Hard services)
  • M&E experience, ideally with a strong building management background.
  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • An excellent knowledge of building compliance and regulation.
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Undertake any reasonable duties or activities which may be allocated.
