Birketts is currently recruiting for a Learning & Development Officer (L&D) to come and join this friendly and proactive team.  The L&D Officer is an exciting role, where you will train our new joiners to the business, whether that be from our Business Services team, Trainee Solicitors or new Partners. All will receive induction training on all Birketts systems (inhouse and external) as well as providing development opportunities to existing staff. All training is performed either face to face in a classroom environment or held virtually.

We encourage and enable smart working and flexibility and foresee this role being performed 3 days from any of our offices and 2 days from home (Tuesday's must be based in our Ipswich office for new inductions).

The role provides fantastic career development opportunities within our dynamic Learning & Development Team and we will support you in studying towards the CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification in Learning and Development.

Accountabilities

As the L&D Officer, you'll support the development and delivery of induction for new starters, business as usual IT Training programmes and training delivery.  Along with the project managment of the training design and delivery for changes to IT systems.

Other accountabilities include but not limited to:

  • Delivering and developing Induction programme in line with firm and Learning and Development (L&D) strategy.  Liaising with appropriate stakeholders to ensure Inductees needs are established and met.
  • Working with appropriate stakeholders to project management L&D’s element of changes to IT systems.
  • Carrying out Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
  • Designing both formal and informal learning interventions with accompanying materials such as handouts, exercises and trainer notes.
  • Contribute to and assist with quality assurance of electronic learning materials.
  • Ensuring the learning environment and resources support learner needs.
  • Assisting the Head of L&D  in evaluating the effectiveness of training programmes and learning outcomes.
  • Appropriate record keeping on training delivered to assist the L&D Administrator in ensuring that data is accurate.

 

The candidate

We are looking for candidates who have experience in delivering Training, preferabbly gained within a professional services environment but we will consider most working training backgrounds, ideally your experience will be in systems training with strong coaching and training delivery skills and an understanding of the Learning & Development Training Cycle.

Key Skills:

  • Recognised training qualification or a willingness to obtain
  • Experience in delivering IT systems training.
  • Coaching and training delivery skills
  • Understanding of Learning & Development and the Training Cycle
  • Interpersonal effectiveness.
