We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Marketing team as a Junior Designer at Birketts, joining us on a full-time (37.5 hours p/w) permanent basis as we experience an exciting growth trajectory as we invest in our workforce of the future.

As part of our new hybrid working, the Junior Designer can be performed mostly from our central Ipswich office with some days from home and adhoc days travelling to other Birketts offices in either Cambridge, Chelmsford, London or Norwich; we are very happy to talk flexible working.

This is an exciting time to be joining Birketts, with the role reporting into our Head of Marketing, Sharyn Scott. The Junior Designer is a newly created position which is a multi-disciplinary, hands-on, creative support role with a strong focus on the delivery of marketing collateral. You will work across all aspects of marketing design projects as well as providing administrative support to the Marketing team.

Marketing collateral

• A good creative eye and the ability to take a brief and create inspiring, well executed marketing collateral
• Acts as a brand guardian and adheres to brand guidelines at all times
• Duties will include; creating brochures, flyers, invitations, PowerPoint presentations, and supporting on other marketing collateral requests
• Ability to convert to digital platforms such as Flipsnack.
• Source promotional goods and looks after pool of corporate merchandise. Comes up with suggestions for new creative ideas that fit within overall brand values and is sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly.
• Supports the preparation of presentations and other templates, blogs, articles, and brochures
• Collate, update and support production of firm wide literature for events

Digital Asset Management System (DAM)

• Keeps collateral up to date and is the guardian of version control
• Supports the central DAM system ensuring collateral is stored and collated correctly
• Supports provision of accurate analytical reporting on collateral usage including open rates from digital assets.

Promotional goods, design and print

• Creative approach to merchandise and supporting promotional collateral that adheres to brand guidelines
• Supporting invoice processing and adhering to firms purchase order and marketing expenses processes
• Keep diary of collateral asset requirements and locations.

Other

• Fully supports the team in the efficient delivery of business development and marketing campaign activity
• Undertakes other duties to meet the demands of the business
• Actively contribute to the team with ideas for marketing campaign and supporting collateral.
• From time to time, in conjunction with other members of the marketing team, providing ‘on the ground’ support for events and seminars, across all four offices.

We are looking for candidates who are detail oriented, with a real flair for design and the ability to take a creative brief and translate into a well thought through finished article.  You will work in a busy team who require the Junior Designer to have strong attention to detail skills, the ability to multi-task on different projects at the same time, a ‘can do’ approach and actively seeks to assist on various projects.

It is essential you have experience in desktop publishing, ideally InDesign or similar and takes a keen interest in the latest technology to support marketing collateral with an understanding of digital collateral platforms.

You will be IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills) with a design specific qualification desirable.

• The ability to proof read and write copy in the correct tone of voice and in line with brand guidelines is a bonus
• Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative and provide pro-active support to colleagues
• The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet strict deadlines
