The Team

The Banking Team assists both lenders, particularly private banks, and borrowers in relation to loan facilities for trusts, corporates and individuals.  We advise on borrowing for investment, business and charitable purposes and provide advice on all aspects of lending including priority of debts and security. The team covers a range of financing areas, including property finance, asset finance, general corporate lending, charity finance, private placements and syndicated lending.

Scope

The Farrer & Co Banking Team continues to grow and we are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and personable solicitor with experience of transactional banking work and between 0 and 2 years' post qualification experience to join our highly successful  team.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong academic background
  • Sound technical knowledge relating to banking law and practice – commensurate with the applicant’s experience to date
  • Interest and enthusiasm in respect of transactional banking work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starting approach to tasks and projects and ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to think laterally and apply knowledge and experience to a broad range of transactions and clients
  • Excellent organisational and transaction management skills
Education and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2.1 degree and a training contract from a mid-sized or city firm

Our office hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm but it is essential that the applicant is committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond normal office hours when necessary and in response to the demands of the business.
