The Team

The candidate will sit in the insolvency team, acting for private banks, companies and boards, on the full range on insolvency processes, including administrations, liquidations, company voluntary arrangements and receiverships. The candidate will also be acting for individuals and other stakeholders on personal bankruptcy matters.

Scope

The role will have a varied and interesting mix, working alongside senior lawyers, assisting on a broad range of insolvency matters, handling queries and enquiries efficiently. It will also involve a high degree of client contact and business development activity.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work with assistants and partners from across the Corporate Team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a significant amount of client contact as well as working closely with their designated supervisor.  The team has experience of working with high performing associates and will adapt the role to suit the particular attributes of the candidate, encouraging the candidate to progress their career at a pace appropriate to

Skills and Experience
  • High level of technical knowledge relating to the practice area

  • Strong academic background

  • Excellent organisational skills with and strong interest and enthusiasm in respect of insolvency work

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starting approach to tasks and projects and ability to work on own initiative

  • Ability to think laterally and apply knowledge and experience to a broad range of transactions and clients

  • Efficient communication skills and the ability to pitch the advice to the person receiving it

  • The ability to deal with many matters at any one time

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have the ability to deal calmly and with authority commensurate with experience and to work to tight deadlines is essential.

They will have an enthusiasm for team work, dealing with people, and an ability to assume responsibility and deal efficiently with a varied and often demanding workload will also be a key requirement.

The candidate will be expected quickly to become an integral part of an established and highly regarded team.

Education and Qualifications

The candidate will hold a minimum 2.1 degree and a training contract from a mid-sized or city firm.

Our office hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm but it is essential that the applicant is committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond normal office hours when necessary and in response to the demands of the business.
